The Miele CM5300 is the smallest and least expensive coffee system the brand makes, but don’t let that fool you into thinking it’s not capable. It is packed full of features and can still deliver a perfectly customized latte macchiato at just the press of a button.
The Miele CM5300 is a coffee maker that will fit nicely in any size kitchen with its more petite frame. At 9.5 inches wide, it’s nearly as compact as many standard coffee machines, even with a built-in grinder and 10-ounce bean hopper. And at only just over 14 inches high, it should slide nicely under your upper cupboards.
Most of its compact size can be attributed to the smaller 42-ounce water reservoir rather than a cutback on features.
The only apparent missing component is the water tap, which will be a disappointment for fans of tea or Americanos. It still includes a built-in grinder, or you can take advantage of the bypass doser to use ground coffee.
How smart is it?
As with the more expensive Miele espresso machines, the CM5300 still allows total customization of your drink, including temperature and volume. The main difference is that this coffee system doesn’t offer programmable user profiles. The programming is easy, and while the unlabeled buttons might be a challenge at first, you’ll quickly find that the symbols are very intuitive.
The Miele CM5300 uses the same milk siphon system as the higher-end coffee makers and offers the same handy automatic cleaning. In this case, however, the stainless steel carafe is not included. Instead, you put the siphon tube in any milk vessel you want. This can be convenient if different members of your household have other milk preferences.
The CM5300 includes Miele’s new coffee pot function, a very cool addition to this style of an espresso machine. If you want to serve a crowd quickly, it can brew a full 8-cup carafe of coffee.

The Miele CM6150 is very similar to our top pick, the CM6350, with the same size water reservoir and bean hopper. It has the same built-in grinder as well as the option to use ground coffee. It’s marginally less expensive thanks to a few small sacrifices.
The main differences that make this model more affordable are that it lacks a milk carafe and a water tap. Rather than an active cup warmer up top, it has a passively heated surface. If those features are of little importance to you, you’ll find great value in this easy-to-use machine.

How to Choose the Best Miele Coffee Machine in 2023

However, there are a few criteria that distinguish each coffee maker. In this buyer’s guide, we’ll walk through some of these unique features to help you make a perfect choice.
Consider the size and design of your kitchen.
The obvious place to start is to think about where your Miele coffee maker will live in your kitchen. If you’re renovating or building from scratch — and have the funds — you have an excellent opportunity to add a built-in coffee maker.
