Milk, Sweeteners, and More

If you’re a fan of a good black iced coffee, making coffee ice cubes can be the perfect panacea for your problems.

But if you like a little something extra in your cup, you can try a few alterations to the recipe.

The sweetener option

While you can add sugar, honey, or stevia to your drink after the fact, it’s always hard to dissolve a sweetener in a cold drink.

Instead, try adding sweetener directly into the hot coffee before pouring it into the ice cube tray.

The milk option

You can also make your iced coffee cubes with milk instead. Using cow's milk, almond milk, coconut milk, or whatever milk you prefer, simply pour it into your ice cube tray(s) and freeze them!

Just keep in mind that using milk ice cubes on their own means your drink won’t have an even level of creaminess. It will start out with less and become creamier as it melts.

A popular option is to make both coffee and milk cubes and add them in at the ratio you prefer.

Another fun alternative is to add chocolate syrup to the ice cube trays, so you can add a mocha twist to your drink, too!

How Long do Coffee Ice Cubes Last in the Freezer?

Once you’ve brewed and frozen the coffee cubes, they should last for a couple of weeks in the freezer without any problem!

One option that can help keep them from picking up any weird tastes from the freezer is to pop them into a ziplock bag. This will keep them fresher for as long as possible.

Recipes with Coffee Ice Cubes

There are multiple coffee ice cube uses around your kitchen. Obviously, you can use them in any iced coffee beverages, but you can also pop them into a blender for a nice frappuccino effect, too.
