How to Make a Suzette Iced Coffee

This creamy drink will bring a gentle, tropical touch to your morning, and help you to enter the day both happy and awake.

Items you'll need

  • Blender
  • Shaker
  • Tall glass

Extra Notes:

  • Be aware of what kind of concentrated milk you use. These are often sweetened which will create a much sweeter drink. Plain concentrated milk will provide that creamy flavor but allow the syrup to provide a more subtle sweetness.

Method

Begin by pulling your lungo espresso. This is an iced coffee, so you’ll want to let it cool a bit before you move on to the next step.

  1. Once your coffee is brewed, add the coffee, mandarin syrup, and several ice cubes into your shaker.
  2. Shake it up!
  3. Set aside.
  4. Add orange juice and four good sized ice cubes into your blender and blend until you have a nice, thick mixture with some smaller pieces of ice still visible. Don’t over blend!
  5. Combine the shaken coffee mixture with the blended juice mixture in your glass.
  6. Add the concentrated milk and stir it up.
  7. And that’s it! Your Suzette Iced Coffee is ready to go.

What Kind of Coffee to Use

This recipe is a light and fruity one, so it should come as no surprise that a light, fruity, and floral coffee bean is the perfect complement to the other ingredients.

These beans often come from African countries (especially Ethiopia and Kenya), or South American regions like Brazil.

Here’s a great article to help you with this and future coffee bean selections.

Espresso vs Coffee

We officially recommend using a long shot of espresso for this one.

However, as is the case with many coffee cocktails, you can off-road a bit and experiment to your heart’s content.

Feel free to use a homemade espresso or even just a strongly brewed batch of coffee, instead!
