The Willow and Everett Gooseneck Electric Kettle Review
The company was started by a couple in Boston, D.C. They were both passionate about coffee and wanted to create products they themselves wanted to use. Thus, the W&E electric gooseneck kettle was born. Let’s see how it performs.
Design – 4/5
The married couple behind this startup wanted to focus on high-quality products that look great and don’t break the bank (1), and this gooseneck spout kettle is no exception. The simplicity of its design, combined with the sleek mirror finish of the stainless steel body makes it incredibly elegant. It features a very functional handle made of BPA-free plastic. Its ergonomic design guarantees a comfortable pour (very important, since pour-over methods usually take around 3 minutes). (2)
The kettle body is made of 100% food-grade high-quality stainless steel with no chemical linings; no plastic ever comes in contact with the water.
We also like the spill-proof lid, which is easily removable, thanks to the BPA-free plastic knob. The lid is quite tight, though, which means you will have to expend some effort to open it. The 360-degree swivel base is also a plus, as it makes it very easy to pop the kettle back onto its base. While it looks quite compact and won’t take up too much room on your countertop, it can brew up to a whole litre of water, so you’ll be able to brew for everyone in one go, even if you’re using larger equipment such as the Chemex.
Features – 2.5/5
Unlike some competitors or Willow and Everett’s pricier model, this gooseneck kettle doesn’t allow you to change the hot water temperature or maintain it hot for long. It’s an entry-level gooseneck kettle that’s designed just to boil water.
It doesn’t even have a thermometer to monitor the water temperature. However, it does include a handy automatic shut off and, at 1000 watts, it’s much quicker than standard electric kettles.
Performance – 4/5
While it offers fewer features than most of the other top picks included in our best pour-over kettles article, the Willow and Everett electric gooseneck kettle certainly doesn’t disappoint when it comes to performance. Thanks to the design of the gooseneck spout, this Willow and Everett kettle allows you to control the flow of the water effortlessly: (3)
That long, thin gooseneck is designed to control the flow of water. Water tends to gush out of kettles with shorter spouts.
The Willow and Everett’s gooseneck spout is not only a blessing when it comes to brewing coffee; it’s perfect as a tea kettle too. In addition, the ergonomically designed handle makes it incredibly comfortable to hold for longer periods.
Value For Money – 4.5/5
This is an incredibly affordable gooseneck kettle and offers great value for money, especially for those who are just upgrading from a normal kettle. Why invest too much in a kettle with lots of features that you’re not going to use?
The Willow and Everett is an affordable, no-frills gooseneck kettle that is designed to control the water flow extremely well.
We admit that the metal body does seem to be on the thinner side, so durability could be an issue. However, the company puts customer satisfaction at the top of their priority list. That’s why they offer a no-questions-asked refund policy. All you have to do is apply for return within 90 days of purchasing the kettle on Amazon, and the company will give you a 100% refund.
Do Not Buy The Willow and Everett Gooseneck Kettle If…

You want to be able to adjust the water temperature – The water temperature should be between 90.5 – 96°C to achieve perfectly-extracted coffee (4). Boiling water can burn your precious coffee grounds, and lower temperatures will extract less soluble parts from the coffee. If you want your water heated to a precise temperature, you should look for electric kettles that allow you to pre-set your desired temperature.
We recommend the Bonavita Gooseneck Kettle, which features temperature control and holds water at the pre-set temperature for up to 1 hour. It is slightly more expensive than the Willow & Everett kettle, though. You can read more about the Bonavita variable temperature electric kettle here.
If price is not a concern, however, we recommend the Fellow Stagg EKG kettle. With a precision-engineered spout and a variable temperature control, it promises to take your pour-over game to the next level. Check out our in-depth review of the Fellow Stagg kettle.
You prefer to heat your kettle on the stovetop – Electric kettles are a blessing as they’re so quick and practical, but we can’t deny that there’s a certain charm in the traditional process of placing the boiler onto the stovetop. If that’s what’s on your mind, then check out the Coffee Gator kettle. This beautiful kettle can work on both gas and electric stoves, and it comes with an in-built thermometer. We loved it so much that we voted it the best pour-over kettle.
You want a kettle that can take different heat sources – The latest addition to Hario’s line of gooseneck kettles, the Smart G is designed to be compatible with any heat source including halogen, induction, electric, and others. Read our Hario Smart G Kettle review to learn more.
The Verdict On The Willow and Everett Gooseneck Kettle
The Willow and Everett Electric Gooseneck Kettle is a stylish and practical product that offers a smooth and easy pour, thanks to its slender gooseneck spout. It guarantees total control over the water flow. However, it doesn’t include a temperature control function, which could potentially result in an over-extracted brew. Remember to let the hot water cool down for a few minutes before pouring it onto the coffee grounds.

While it doesn’t have the features of the more professional (and expensive) kettles, we think that the Willow and Everett stainless steel electric kettle is a great budget-friendly pick for anyone serious about manual pour-overs. If you want to upgrade from a regular electric kettle without having to invest too much money, you can’t go wrong with this gooseneck electric kettle from Willow & Everett.
